Clinton's Ditch Cooperative an Independent, New York State Pepsi Cola manufacturer is looking for a 2nd Shift Building & Grounds Maintenance Mechanic. The ideal candidate will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Grounds and Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanical and other maintenance repair and construction-related tasks. The work to be performed includes tasks in carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical, appliance maintenance, and lawn care, and snow removal. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform installation, service, and repair of:
    • Cabinets, shelves, doors, windows, screens, and locksets.
    • Roof, flooring, walls, and furniture
    • Plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, and drain lines.
    • Heating and air conditioning units.
    • Commercial/residential electrical wiring, phone and communications wiring
    • Drains and Sewers
  • With minimal assistance, able to respond to issues and make proper repairs for common and repetitive type malfunctions.
  • Performs service, repair and preventative maintenance on equipment and fixed property.
  • Identifies and repairs mechanical and structural deficiencies.
  • Prepares surfaces and paints exteriors and interiors of buildings, structures and equipment.
  • Performs general grounds maintenance activities including snow removal and other lawn care tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining records and entering data related to maintenance activity for repairs and material acquisition
  • Performs periodic inspections of buildings and grounds.
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

SPECIAL ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Working knowledge of building operations, maintenance, and repair procedures, i.e., carpentry, electrical, plumbing, building, heating, air conditioning ventilation, compressed air systems, construction principles, and grounds keeping.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials/equipment with a minimum of 50 pounds. The position is physically demanding with tasks that include heavy lifting, bending, climbing, reaching and repetitive motion.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of the control and operation of HVAC equipment; and is able to make repairs of common malfunctions and replacement of simple parts (fuse, belts, thermostats, thermocouple, etc.).
  • Must provide tools of the trade customarily used in the major trades.
  • Must be competent in the use of power tools, hand tools, operation of motorized equipment, trailers, and vehicles.
  • Responsible for following company safety and health policies, procedures, and rules.

Payrate:  $24.88  + .35 for shift dif
