Clinton's Ditch "The Pepsi Place" is looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager, to help lead safety initiatives within our organization! This is a newly created position, which is onsite at our manufacturing facility in Cicero, NY!

Essential Responsible Areas:

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe/secure work environment.
  • Leads/implements the development and administration of plant environmental, health, and safety processes, such as accident investigations, corrective actions, safety inspections/audits, lockout/Tagout, confined space, hot work permits, etc.
  • Drive best-in-class safety culture change initiatives and behavioral-based safety programs with a zero-incident focus.
  • Partner with Clinton’s Ditch Leadership team on plant-level initiatives.
  • Manage environmental programs and activities associated with regulatory compliance in accordance with Clinton’s Ditch policy.
  • Develops and facilitates training on EHS initiatives, compliance topics, and required OSHA/ environmental training.
  • Drive procedures regarding labeling, storage, spills, or disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
  • Understands and remains current on environmental requirements.
  • Compiles data prepares and submits required regulatory reports.
  • Provides maintains and monitors all environmental, health, and safety management activities including, but not limited to, SDS files, hazard communication programs, environmental educational programs, hazardous waste programs, hazardous materials programs, air programs, stormwater programs, wastewater discharge programs, etc.
  • Timely and effectively communicates with Ball personnel and federal, state, and local authorities on environmental, health, and safety compliance issues.
  • Serves as point of contact for agency, company, community environmental, health and safety inquiries,
  • Maintains thorough familiarity with all aspects of the facility’s emergency contingency plan.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of professional safety and health experience, preferably in packaging or manufacturing.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of safety standards, methodologies, and regulations, including OSHA, ANSI, EPA, and NFPA.
  • Demonstrated ability in taking ownership and initiative of responsibilities and executing them to meet business needs and deliverables.
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and show strong organizational skills in a fast-paced business environment while maintaining attention to detail is critical.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to engage and inspire others to comply with safety policies and standards. Build relationships and effectively communicate with team members company-wide.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables and implement solutions to correct them.
